The micro doesn't really have a rack size. It is as big as a pocket book. Great machine, but beware if you are on a Mac. The editing software for the Micro and original Nord Modular doesn't really run good under OSX. This might have been fixed and I know there is an open source alternative in the works.

I have a micro and I love it. I don't use it that much, but it is just soo cute! :D

its equivilant is, unsurprisingly, the nord modular rack.

The Nord Modular rack is the rack equivalent of the Nord Modular
The Nord modular had a keyboard.

The micro modular really stood on its own.

A Nord Modular rack or keyboard is like having 4 micro's in one unit.

I love my micro, bought it brand new and would never part with it. I've even left my G4 running OS9 just so I can use the editor. the editor runs fine on XP though

Wooaa, really! Do you know where I can find it? I had read talk of people making one but last time I'd searched come up with nothing.

You didn't look hard enough :)

http://www.clavia.com/downloads/software/nord modular/Nord Modular Editor OSX BETA.sit

The only problem I know with it is :
A known bug is that if you control click on a module, to delete it or change its name, the editor will promptly crash. The workaround is to select a module and press the delete key, and to rename it just double click on the name of the module.

I've tried to work with the OS editor. And it basically crashed as soon as I tried doing anything.

wait so the micro modular has the same capabilities as the modular rack accept for the 4 patches at once thing?

yea
not exactly

the rack has an absolute 4 voice minimum and a 'theoretical' 8 voice max,
the micro has an absolute 1 voice minimum and a 'theoretical' 4 voice max..

I have an expanded Rack (and a Micro as well),
which gives me an absolute 8 voice min.., theo. 32 voice max..

Typical in use with a Micro is about 2/3 voices..
But most of the time the lil' red devil is just mooonooo..

..but in terms of the devices you can build the Micro is equivalent to the Nord Modular. Who needs polyphony anyway? :)
