since installing 6.0.7 i've noticed regular glitches / stuttery audio. maybe my soundcard is on its last legs, but i'm sure i can notice slight drops on the master level meter in live when this happens. it happens when playing my main set, which is a collection of warped tracks, on 7 channels, usually only running 2 or 3 when stuttering occurs. I havent noticed it much in other sessions, such as production projects.

my 8th track in the main set up is midi, with a simpler and a couple of plug ins, which are all turned off.

bit annoyed as i have some big sets coming up and really need my set up to be running smoothly. anyone experienced stuttering audio before?

i should probably add, my cpu level meter reads around 10-15% with no jumps into silly figures when stutters occur

as far as i am aware the only change i have made is the update to 6.0.7

ok a quick look at my activity monitor tells me that i may have too many audio samples/full tracks in the session. would this tally with the glitching audio? do people recommend multiple live sessions for djs? given my spec whats the recommended limit on audio samples per session?

turns out its probly me leaving airport on thats causing the problem, just in case you wanted to know

my audio keeps dropping out , it's unusable for live performances.

Check all the following settings:

1. Resize your buffer: by going to audio preferences, pulling it back from 285 to 500. See if that helps.

2. Make sure your hard-disk light isn't coming on (if you see a blinking light in the top right corner while you're playing your track, hearing the glitches). If you see the light come on that means that you're clips/samples are taxing your hard disk (slowest component of the modern computer).

3. If the light comes on do one of two things: 1. select all the clips and switch on the RAM button (found in the clip window). 2. get a SEPARATE (faster) hard-disk. FIREWIRE, nothing else! Then save your projects and all corresponding samples onto the separate hard disk (do this by choosing "save all" under the file menu after saving your project normally).

no hardrive light wasn't coming on at all, and i'd already tried the buffer adjustment. i think my wireless was interfering. i could bne wrong but i think i noticed a similiar drop out in itunes the other day too, so its affecting my audio rather than ableton. i appear to have solved it by turning airport off. will update you if i'm wrong
