dBlue Glitch Key / Midi Mapping

When using Live 5 I used to have the solo function for each effect in Glitch mapped to a controller or keyboard key.

The thing I loved about this was that if I created a glitch pattern one note in length i could hit the keys at random and it would give the desired effect.

With version 6 however I now have to press the key twice. Once for ON then again for OFF before selecting the next effect. I used to love being able to just hit keys one after another and the effect change.

Anyone know how to get round this ?

Also while I am here can someone tell me how to set up a MIDI command to launch the next scene. I know that ENTER does it on keyboard but cant figure out how to map it to midi.

When you assign the midi key, you should be able to modify the behavior so that it's not a toggle. Check the help/manual on this, but I'm pretty sure you can still trigger on/off with just one press.

As for triggering scenes, are you sure you can't map midi keys to scenes? That surprises me...nevertheless, do a search for "dummy clips" - basically, you can install a midi loopback device (on PC Midi Yoke). Then you can map midi to a clip, which basically send the triggering info back to Live, mapped to the scene. Or you can map midi to Bome's midi translator, which can send keyboard commands mapped to scenes. There are several ways to go.

It is not individual scenes I want to map, I can do that.

I want to be able to assign a control that will launch the next scene, then the next, then the next (you get the idea). Just the same as if you were pressing the enter key.

Might use a program to convert midi to keystrokes. Was wondering if there was another way.

I think the only way to trigger successive scenes is to map midi notes to scenes, then set up dummy clips through a loop-back midi port to trigger the scenes, then do follow-actions on those dummy clips.

Still not certain if I understand exactly what you ask, but it sounds like you want to check the preference for "select next scene on launch" then assign a button to your "scene launch" which lives right under the "stop clips" button on your master channel. You see it only in MIDI map mode.
The other way to "automatically" launch the next scene is with Follow Actions. Within the clips main settings, create the "next action" option (arrow pointing down) with a probability of 1 to 0 (100% Chance)

I have a separate midi track routing midi directly from my controller into dblue Glitch - this bypasses the, at least to me, quite silly Live midi assignment behaviour of "midi notes are automatically toggles".

It also has the benefit of allowing you to do live looping of you controlling the effect parameters ;)

Hope this helps a bit.
