I've got a Mac Book Pro OS X, 2 gig memory, 2 gig processor. working on Live 5.2 and the M-Audio Firewire 410....no pops, everything is working beautifully BUT..

I've noticed that my midi sounds come through tremendously loud (not complaining) but my vocal mic is recording very low. the mic is a Shure SM58. Even when I mix the other instruments lower, the vocal is still low.

Do I have the wrong cable or something? It's really low compared to everything else.

I have the same problem. I figured that the preamps on the fast track pro aren't great, but I didn't think I'd have to put my mic input volume more than 3/4 of its total just to be able to hear something. Does it have anything to do with Phantom power?

I also have another issue related to this. When I have the mic into an input on the fast track pro, the sound always only comes out on the one side of the headphones and/or speakers.

that's funny...the issue with sound coming out of only one side of the speakers has to do with the audio coming in on 2 channels. you need to adjust it (probably) to 1 or 2 instead of 1/2...i had the same problem and it worked for me.

as for the volume thing, i'm still lost. the m-audio i'm using is supposed to be ideal for audio recording, so i have no idea
