How do i assign any Controller to something?

Hi
I was just wondering...and i dont know how to figure it out...if you could assign any Controller to say a Reason Machine. I am working on a Song in ReWire Mode with Reason and i want to let my UC-33 control some things in Reason (Filter, Resonance and so on).
I want to record the things that i do. How do i do that? Do i really have to make a new Preset on my UC just for this song?
