3 midi tracks = Ridiculously high CPU usage

Hi,
I'm running Live on a 2 x 2.8GHZ (Dual Core) Processor with 1GB ram.

I recorded 3 midi tracks using instruments that came with Live (1 drum, 2 keys) and yet during playback it just annhiliates my CPU and causes distortion and all kinds of Aphex Twin sounds!

I know some of the instruments in Live have alot of effects already associated with them but it just seems strange that my computer can't handle 3 midi tracks.

Do I just need to get another gig of ram? Alternatively would there be value in recording a midi track then coverting it to audio?

Any help would be really appreciated!

Cheers

Hello,

What exactly is your computer, and what exact version of Live are you using? Also, are the preset you are using from our Library, or did you built custom sounds using Operator for instance?

Hi,

It's a HP Pavilion M7340 Media Center PC and I'm running Ableton Live 6.

All the instruments that I am using are from the library without any tweaking or effects.

Thanks

M

Hi,

We do not support Windows Media Center, only XP and 2000. Vista will be supported in the future, and not Media Center. That could be the reason for your issue.
