Ok being brand new to live and recording and being an old guy, what to buy next? What is recommended for a midi controller? I am also thinking of buying an MPC or the new Roland MV 8800 for generating beats and other sounds. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks. 8)

Novation SL25
M Audio Evolution UC33e (not really an M Audio product so you know it doesn't suck)
FaderFox
TriggerFinger
MPCs work GREAT with Live once you get the "JJOS"
MPD24 (not the 16)

How much do you want to spend, what do you want to do? Fuck it, get a Lemur.

Up until now I would have recommended a UC-33e wholeheartedly. :x :x BUT SOFT TAKEOVER DOESN'T WORK WITH THE UC-33e!!! :x :x

Get the Axiom 49 for an allround controller - pads, faders, knobs, semi-weighted keys...

Don't get any hardware to start with - learn what you can do with Live first. Then see if you really need a drummachine or a synth. The convinience of having everything (patches, samples, songs, sets) is great!
