In draw mode -- how to assign same velocities for many notes

When I lay down a midi drum track is there a way to set all the notes' velocities to the same value w/o having to manually draw each one?
Select them all, drag them to 127, then drag to the desired velocity. When the bars "hit the wall" they all get evened out.
Another way to do it is to use a Velocity plugin and set the low and high values to the target velocity.
