Does anyone know where I can get an equaliser bigger than 32 bands for Live (osx)?

Preferably free but will consider all.

You can always add multiple ableton EQ´s to you effect chain and get how many bands you want!

you can just add more in chains though - even freq1 can notch 12.5kHz!

seems so logical it's amazing all EQs dont already do that

BIAS SoundSoap VST will kill your 32 band EQ idea. What you're trying
to do really sounds retarded. Get SoundSoap, it totally destroys.

Really, for hiss removal I think you'd be far better off using a noise reduction plug than an EQ.

If you insist, however, then you'll need a parametric EQ. I'm not aware of any graphic-style EQ that has more that 32 bands - and that is really the wrong tool for the job. Each of those faders acts on 1/3 of an entire octave - they are anything but precise.

As for soundsoap it's not really any good. The examples on their web site are pretty bad.

Tom, if you just want NR then I have the waves plugs- I can help you do this - I think what you're doing is a cool idea from a sound design/art POV - kind of an interesting approach, but what's cool about plug-ins like waves is you literally find a tiny snapshot of "silence" and the plug in learns exactly what frequencies are causing the hiss - in other words it's like giving a sniffer dog a shirt to get the sent off then letting it go look for it ( strange analogy?) but my point is they have been designed for the purpose and can be just as precise - but alot less work

my laptop is shagged at the moment so I cant bring it on saturday but we can work out some other time if you like - actually thinking about it - is your s a powerbook or macbook because if it's pre-intel I can use my plug-ins on your machine because they are on an iLok - not intel macs though i have to pay more for that!

- so if you are PPC then go the waves website and download the gold bundle, then go to the iLok/Pace website and download the iLok mac drivers before saturday and I'll bring my iLok

Multiple Parametric Eq's would be better suited to specific frequency reductions.
