My specs are Macbook Pro: 2.16 ghz dual core, 2 gig ram, running through a MOTU utralite interface....I'm using hypersonic2/fm8/sampletank plugins and I'm only able to run about 8-9 tracks before my cpu usage jumps above 50%....I'm hardly using any effects, and I'm using the coreaudio driver...is this cpu usage normal? I would think this machine could handle more......
Which version...

ist depends it depends
if you use an instrument with alot of voices its can be true that your cpu usage is up to high levels!
but in generall the MBP with your configuration must be able to handle this
easy.
How many voices you are using for each instrument and which latency and samplerate ?

Live 5 works with DualCore's but is not optimised for it.
Live 6 is optimised for DualCores.
Upgrade to Live6..

Hi,
I´m having same problem with mac intel, Live 6, if the CPU spikes run above 100, I really think about selling motu again, cause I cant restart motu without a system restart.

I´m using 8 Tracks and the constant CPU at 30-50%, but that spikes just happen while loading from disk.
