Hours & hours of work.... certain sets crash live on open in 6 & now 5 too! (used to work fine). I made a new folder for 6 as it asked on install. These are large performance sets. In some cases earlier versions of the sets open in others not. The cpu spikes on openning then just quits!!! Does anyone know how I can fix this. I am having similar issues with new stuff only done in LIVE6. I have to keep checking everytime I save to make sure I can reopen the set! I'v already lost a few.

have tried to disable all your vst plugins and then open a set?

just to make sure it's not a corrupted plugin that's causing this..

Do you mean all vst's or just the ones used in the set?

if you know which are used in the set then only those..

but to be on the safeside better disable them all..

if the set then doesn't crash you can put back plugin by plugin to find on which one it crashes..

if this is the problem at all..?

Thanks, yes it does seem to be a plug in. I have to do more checking on the older sets. Right now I'm struggling to finish a newer set for Tues. Unfortunately, the plug in (Devine Machine's Lucifer) is the main plug in I'm using for beat juggling and I already spent three days setting up all my midi controls to the Novation SL 25 and making the Lucifer presets.
I've been saving 4 copies after every few moves (taking notes) all day and it hasn't screwed up once since this morning but, it's slowed me down to a crawl.

One strange note: In the sets I can't open, I was able to open them with the plug in deactivated and then load a copy of the plug back in. But, when I try to load the preset for Lucifer BAM! Live quits.

what you can try is to delete Lucifer's preference file..

because the plugin worked ok before it's probably a corrupted prefs file..

better first relocate the file so you can put it back if it doesn't help..

cheers..

I can't find any preference file associated with this Lucifer?
Any ideas?

Thanks!

I don't have Lucifer..

maybe search for the term 'lucifer' and/or 'devine machine'..

Somehow, I was able to get Lucifer to work enough to make it through the show! I've been in contact with them since and they're working on it. What's really strange is that a few days later I had the same exact problem with two other vst's which apparently were causing no problems for many months with Live5 and a couple of weeks with Live 6? I wasn't actually using these plug ins, it was only in the rescanning of the folder that they crashed the program. (I just watched the names carefully as they verified and saw when it crashed). A bit scary considering how many vst's I have.
I actually haven't upgraded to osx 10.4.8 yet because I heard it had some problems with certain vst's. Anyone hear anything about that?
