How to with the BCR2000?

About two days ago I bought a bcr2000 and found myself quite a noob not being able to get anything done with it. For the last two days I have been searching the internet for answers but found nothing useful in thousands of topics about the bcr2000.

What I wish to get done is that live 6.07 reacts to the input. For instance that when I 'edit midi map' and rotate a rotator that live actually reacts. Maybe I use the bcr2000 totally wrong but that I also wish to know.

Now I have the latest usb drivers and firmware for the bcr installed and I use ableton live 6.07. In live the dumb feature works and the bcr is recognized by my computer and live.

So what do I do wrong?

Sounds like you are 99% there...

Enable 'remote' under the BCR MIDI port in the preferences.

Also I'm sure you know that you need to click on a control after entering mapping mode, then rotate a knob

Thnx for the reply.

Bad thing is that the problem is still there, I already had remote enabled and clicked on a control before rotting a knob. So I still hope someone has a eureka moment to help me out.

If you have the bcr plugged in via USB then it must be started before live.

Have you selected it from the drop down list of controllers in prefs, i have to deselect it and then select it again if live has been run previously without the controller on else the bcr is not detected.

Hi,

Just to make sure you do the right thing:

- Turn ON the BCR
- Make sure, reading the BCR manual, that the right mode is selected. There are at least 4 if I recall well. I think it should be on U1, but do verify this in the manual and look about how to change he operation mode.
- Start Live
- Open the Preferences
- Enable Remote for both Input and Output for the BCR. There may be more than one BCR port, so make sure you enable the right one.

Then you should be fine.

Kind regards,
Amaury

Thnx for all the replies.

My bcr2000 still doesn't work, but I kinda figured out my model is broken. So I will return it.
