works like a charm with tempo and start and stoping one live setup to another, but i cant get song info, for sync'd timelines ! so annoying. tried all permutations, live 6 send sync, live 5 receive, live 5 send sync, live 6 receive..
still wont work.
any tips ?

more updates..
cracking my head here.. sync seems to be kinda ok abouit 50% of the time going from live 6 to live 5. ( i reduced the # of gear pieces that sync was going through to end up at the other computer.. tried before with no results. (using a midisport 2x2 to merge the input signals into the live 5 setup))
*but* no song data at all from live 5 to live 6, not even spotty response here.
is there something buggy about live 5 sending midi click to live 6 ?
tempo and strat/stop is fine, but no bar beat, song data sent.

wow,k and get this.
when you have sync between two systems, you can click on one location in the timeline it goes to the same location on the other computer that is MIDI sync'd.
(cool) that works, even it loses sync when i begin playing (live 6 sync output to live 5 here) the static locations at least update. so i know i'm getting something constant here.
BUT!
these static locations wont send above 1024 4 4 (!)
is this some limitaion of midi clock. not enough bits i'm guessing to send any larger # right ?
at 120bpm, @ 1024 4 4 we're only at about 34mins and 7 secs.. !! and sync is totally lost on the timeline.
comon ableton !

We JUST hit that limit too.
Recorded a hour long sync'd set and I cannot ffwd past 1024 without the other box resetting back to 1.1.1
This can't be a midi limitation can it?
Now we're both sitting here wishing we could hear the end of our set.

thats hilarious. sorry man.
maybe some 8bit deal ? or just some inefficency in the way these locations are sent or indexed.
? have no clue. siliness.

I just emailed Abelton asking them... we're both on 6 here so its not a version issue.
What a pisser, we were all stoked to hear our masterpiece!!

with my tests, live 5 to live 6 sync wont even send static timeline locations.. just for the record, again.
great when it works and when your under 1024 in the timeline tho.
