BUG: Inputs and Outputs in Live are all called the same

On my machine (PB 867), the internal input-output config in Live for OS9 where you switch ins and outs on and off calls all of the inputs and outputs on my MOtu 828 the same, like this:

Analog Out 7
Analog Out 7
Analog Out 7
Analog Out 7
S/PDIF Out 7

What's wrong?

More Info?

A little more info might help...

Like is Analog 7 (1), the same input as Analog 7 (2) or is it completely different. Are the names wrong, but the input is still correct?

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling them? What version of the drivers are you using?

Have you tried using the hardware under different applications, what behavior do you see?

Have you tried the hardware on different systems, what behavior do you see?

What protocol are you using... ASIO... core audio (not sure what it is in Mac speak)?

My guess would be that this is a driver issue. I am certain that Live just queries the audio driver for available ports and the driver provides a list of names. I would attempt to uninstall the drivers and download the latest ones from Motu and see if that helps any.

That's certainly a possibility, gaspode - as I've installed the latest MOtu ASIO drivers, found they didn't work, and returned to the old ones.

However, Logic and all other applications "know" the correct names for all these inputs and outputs.....

So could anything else be wrong?
