Just loaded ableton for the first time today...was working through the lessons, then tried to load a plug in - when I went back to the main screen all the lessons, instruments, simpler, midi effects had disappeared?? tried to reload and they are still gone - when I go to the folder in apps they are not ehere either???? any ideas....

I'm not sure I understand your issue. Do you mean that the devices disappeared from the Live Browser? Or is it the Browser itself that you can't see?

I have the same problem. In part, I think it may have something to do with the location of the library. The lessons disappear. The lessons window says "no lessons found", and the instruments disappear from the browser. There are no instruments listed.

However, this seems to be a prevalent problem and needs to be fixed. I presume there will be a patch issued soon to correct this problem?

Hi,

There is no issue that we know about that 'makes' the presets and lessons disappear. It happens that the path is lost, due to a wrong operation, somehow, but there is no 'bug' as such, that we know of. If we are made aware of anything, of course, we'll be happy to corect it.

For now, the default path of the Library is:

PC: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My Documents\Ableton\Library
Mac: user homefolder/library/application support/ableton/library

Check that it is corectly set in your Preferences, File/Folder tab. And also, if you see a pattern on how you 'loose' the files, let me know.

A couple of months ago I hat this issue as well, and for some reason I somehow accidentally did hit the search button and suddenly everything was in place again. Maybe this could solve your problem.

hi there.
after uninstalling live 5 and now just installing 6, for some reason there are no presets for instrument rack, impulse, operator, simpler.

ie. where i've told live to stick the library (mydocs/ableton) there is nothing - only some empty folders:

Ableton Project Info
Lessons
Presets
Samples

i tried installing live 605 but the same thing happens.

why is the installation process not installing any presets? i need these!

Presets are generallly installed from the Packs, not the program installer.

Get the packs off the website.
