How to write Audio to External Hardrive?

Post by djoh » Thu Jun 07, 2007 4:56 am

I have a 7200 rpm external hardriver daisy chained through my MOTU ultralite interface all with my Macbook Pro........How do I set Ableton Live to write all the audio to the external drive? Also, what other settings do I do to make my external hardrive a dedicated audio drive for Ableton?

Hi,

I guess you could find this information easily in the manual, but here is a hint: if you're using Live 6, look into the Preferences, File/Folder tab. There you can set the folder used to record temporary audio files, which will also be used to decode compressed audio files. Then, it is your responsability to save your projects to the right HDD. If you save first your project to the external HDD, all audio you'll record will be saved in there.
