Loops recorded into Arrange are offset

hi,
this is our recording scenario:
macBookPro 1.83 GHz 2GB RAM; external FW400 drive, Motu Ultralite and 896 as aggregate device, Live 6.07, OSX 10.4.8.
21 armed tracks recording various things, 9 of them are tracks that we use to record guitar and bass loops on the fly. the guitar loop tracks are getting the audio from a main guitar track in Live, the bass loops are getting audio from the ext. in. so all the loop-tracks are always recording until there is a loop to play, at which point the arrange should be recording the position of the loops in the arrange.
we usually record large-ish segments, say 15-45 minutes at a time before stopping the transport.
quantize is set to 1/4 notes.
the problem:
sometimes these loop tracks become offset negatively, meaning they appear in the arrange window before they were even played. only the loop tracks are affected, and they are all affected for the duration of that recorded segment. this can happen more than once in a live set, sometimes it doesn't happen at all.
the offset is smaller than a quarter-note.
the solution: ?
thanks
