Hi there,
When slaving Live to Logic via Rewire, can you open an Ableton Live set that contains third party AU instruments? I have opened Logic, then opened Live as rewire slave and opened a Live set that I was working on that contained the FM8 and Pro-53 instruments from Native Instruments. The instruments would not load with Live when slaving? Is it even possible to do this?
Thanks.

my big grief with logic. as far as i have figured out NO you can not, which stinks. i have tons of live projects i wanted to bring into logic and it will not allow any plugs to come in with it. i have not tried but assume you can export the midi data from live and drop it in logic and place the au on an instruemnt track in logic with the corrisponding midi clip. i hope.

You can't do that with Live as a ReWire slave, period. The platform and/or plugin format doesn't matter; any third party plugins won't open.

this was my all time biggest disapointment regarding live
since i found it out i have felt so numb that i could not even start a thread on the subject...
i suppose this feeling is not unique to me as this was the very first post i ever noticed on th subject, but i am probably wrong and maybe it has been posted before...

Do we know *why* this is the case?
I agree, it's a feature which does cripple Live a bit when run as a Rewire slave - fine if all you are using is raw audio clips, but if you are using instruments in your set, or plugins with clip automation, it makes it impossible to send that stuff into your Rewire host unless you do a whole bunch of bounces/freezes etc first.
