My laptop bag has a humongous Apple Logo embroidered on it along with iron-on patches from Ableton, Native Instruments, Linplug, Waves, Pioneer, and Allen & Heath. On the strap I wrote a list of every plugin I have installed on my laptop along with the current market value of each which I update weekly. I'm running out of space to write on the strap! LOL! I also sewed on a water/fire proof patch on the inside pocket that lists my social security number and ATM PIN code incase it gets lost and somebody wants to return it. You can never be too careful.

haha.. hmm i wonder if you're being sarcastic?

i've had the m-audio bag for almost as long as it's been out. 5 years? i love it.

pros- it fits my 15 mbp, oxygen8 (occasionally), my headphones and some shit it the lid- cables, power supply etc. ive taken it with me EVERY DAY for those 4+ years. noting has torn ripped or even shown wear.

cons- it looks like a jet pack. its not the most stylin' bag. but i dont give a shit. the trade off is worth it. the laptop slot is a bit loosey goosey, but i have some mags in there too so it doesnt move around too much.

and as far as advertisin that i might have m-audio stuff inside, well..
1. i just tore the label off
2. if someone actually tried to take my bag off my back they'll be bleeding from the eyes when i'm done with them.

i give it an 8 out of 10.

Yeah, there was a slight pinch of sarcasm in my response but I think it has to be mentioned at least once (probably twice) in these "bag" threads that you shouldn't advertise what possibly lies within your bag. Until Al Pacino does a movie showing him pulling a machine gun out of a Novation gig bag it's probably best to keep your musical side on the down low when walking the streets.

i bought a laptop-rucksack at the local discounter. i paid 10 or 15
euros and i am very happy with it. it´s safer than something hanging
on one shoulder and your hands are free. not KEWL, but very functional...

I think the MOTU Traveller bags are the best laptop/studio bags because they look good, proffesional and there is loads of room.

I fit 2 faderfoxes, audiofire 2, power supplies for all, cool pad, leads, laptop, 2 hard drives, headphones, a magazine, ipod and a spare change of clothes (jeans, socks, boxers & T-shirt)

much better and cheaper than a crumpler.

lmao.. that statement pretty much nails it. I feel like a space man, or one of those World War II guys with the big field phones on their backs when I rock that thing. Despite the fact that it's probably the ugliest bag I have ever seen, I have one and love it as well. It's built really tough and has lots of space.

Good, strong, functional gig bag for sure, but definitely not a day-to-day bag for me, for regular everyday stuff I've got a timbuktu.

i use a crumpler, built like a tank, waterproof and they have funky models, which do not look like a usual laptop bag.

also i got that standard ableton one [the cheap version], i like that one a lot, only problem is that you show straight away that you carry 2000 to 3000 euro worth of gear around, not so convinient if you ask me.

that sounds pretty cool. do you know if it meets the size restrictions for hand luggage that are in force at UK airports? i've had a look at it digital village and dolphin, but they don't give the dimensions there.
