what is "plug-in buffer size" and why might we set it the "same as audio" or lower?

I undertand regular buffer size and latency, but this extra setting under CPU is a mystery to me, and I don't see info on it..

Hi,

'Same as audio buffer' will only set the buffer size for the plugins the same size as the audio buffer. Normally that should be the default, but we've let the user a choice because it seems that some plugins would need a fixed buffer size, which can then differ from the one of the audio card.

Leave it on 'same as audio buffer', unless you notice a problem and are advised to change that.

Hi,

There's a short explanation on page 199 of the Live 6 manual, chapter 15.2.2
