Once again Im calling you all so that I can exploit your musical knowledge. What are the best Sad songs you ever heard? Tunes that make your heart bleed, reflect a sad time of your life, bring back memories, or possibly express a feeling you cant word. Oldies and any style are welcome but i would prefer newer songs or electronic flavored.
Thanks.

for some reason, "Laugh" by Low comes to mind. it's on 'a curtain hits the cast'
nothing electronic about it, of course

lotsa stuff on Sufjan Stevens' "Come On Bring The Illinoise" has that sepia toned melancholic mournful vibe.

Hurt by NIN is up there, which makes me think about the Johnny Cash version, which really isn't as sad as the NIN version IMO, but the Johnny Cash with Joe Strummer "Redemption Song" will really tug at you.

Check out UARETHEREASON by FOSS (I know ....that would be me...)
First song in my Myspace profile
The vocals/lyrics and the chord progressions are an improvised one take, so bear with the grammatical flaws etc.
....
Almost impossible to redo, as im not there now......
Regards
Foss aka pale1
Kudos to my friend jesQuick who was helping in the mastering process.

Oh man! So many. One of my favorites is Radiohead-8 ball. I'm not sure if you'd classify it as sad but it is darker and emotional.

Just try to be in your happy place while listening to Bonnie Raitt's I can't Make You Love Me. I dare you.
And a smattering of songs by Mandalay. Toss in some Radiohead to finish the job.
