from what i can see of the specs, it has a sidechain filter, but no EXTERNAL KEY INPUT.

hmm does it add loads of colour / character to the sound?

if so, i'll consider giving it a go, as i'm currently looking for an old braodcast / radio compressor that'll give my sound a signature tone

good to see a liverpool based company kicking the shit out of it as well!

Its fairly transparant - like the rest of their stuff. very clean.
theres a old tape setting that might be what your after. have to say sounds amazing across drums cause of the "pump" button.

I never tried to side-chain it. Whats your gut feeling tho?
probably not in Ableton, i'm thinking. I could be wrong.

there is no external sidechain input on teh TBK3. Sonalksis makes another compressor which does include an ext sidechain and sounds very good.
