Greetings,

I am starting my own record label this week. It will be mainly trance, hip-hop and similar genres. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about how to get signed to a successful label. I make all the cover art and the album is mastered so now I just need to get the label signing.

I just wanting now to get it on the label and press 12 inches of vinyl for the trance/hip-hop crowd.

should I send the label some pictures and demo music too? If you want to be on EvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvil records, you send me a demo and we'll see about you.

I only make trance with arpeggios and convolution reverbs. Is this something that EvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvil records would be interested in?

It is possible yes. Do you use black keys for musical composition? are you australian?

I decided - i will approach my label with the press kit and get it signed first thing. it is not a classified genre.

I am not australian, and I only use the 3 black keys next to each other... not the two that are together.

do you press at 33 1/3 only or is 45 rpm an option as well?

I heard that 78 rpm is best for trance?
can I get 78 rpm?

I'm finishing up a Prog Rock interpretation of The Lord of the Rings and The Phantom Menace in modulating time signatures but my mom stole the tapes and won't give them back until I clean up the fake blood in the basement from last weekend's Dungeons and Dragons session (it was so cool.) Do you release Prog Rock? Can you help me score some whiskey so my mom will chill out.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I make music with mice and shadows. Is this can be tarnce?

we all use different mediums for trance and hip-hop in the particular. i was thiking that 7 of my mutants would make best genre of trance, but i was proven wrong as they only made non-genre classifiable music.

there is one lesson to be learned from this too: black keys and mutants are a good combination for hit records.

You should champion your trance / hip-hop label in Miami this fall - all the top disc jockeys will be looking for the freshest newest biggest trance hip-hop cross overs - I know this because, well I just know

Evil your label is massive and your lemurmutant jazz is impeccable

peace be with you brother

please post your music for review. EvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvil records will then run it through the mutants to see which one has the best and if you are REALLY using the black keys "old-school" style. please use the ableton's saturator vst effects for the mix. we will check that too.

Curious, if I was to use a Scale plug on a jazzlemurmutant would it compress the odd numbered black keys [only]

does you label accept this kind of vst endorsement?

I feel like a midget in the shadow if your presence Evil!
