Live 5.2 Multi core support?

I have read that version 6 supports multiple processors, does that mean that my Mac book pro which has a dual core running live 5.2 is only utilizing one core of the chip and to use the both cores I must upgrade to 6?

why couldn't they just include it in an update of 5.2?

whats so great about this upgrade? I need the dual core support and the deep freeze would def be handy, but what else does it got? I don't use the effects within Live all that much. With the extra features it should of had some of those little things anyhow.

Just got Live 6 from Bit torrent.
