Hi all,

my first time on this forum. I am just starting to use ableton to remix some of my old Indian tunes.

i have been using acid, but a friend had reccomanded me to use ableton

but i ran in to a problem
Image
the song is the green part. the gray parts are the parts i do not want to use in remix. i know it is easy to cut those part out in acid, how would i go about doing that in ableton.

if someone can link me to tutorial, or show me how it could be done in ableon I would greatly appriciate it, I have searched thorugh the forums,.. but i was not successful.

thanks in advance,

Just select a particular time frame, and use the 'delete time' command from the menu.

Hi,

I would add: make sure you load the track in Arrangement view, you'll have a way easier experience splitting and cropping. Afterward, you can off course drag back the parts into the Session view if that's what you mean to use.

i'm a noob but the way i do it is to insert new audio track (arrangement veiw) so its underneath and use the loop brace over the parts you want to use & drag & drop onto the new track making sure snap to grid is on to line them up then just delete the 1st track  not sure what that does to any automation you might have already done on the 1st track i think ill try that one out now :!:

8) tried it you loose any automation but you can then click hold & toggle to session view & drop the clip into an audio track for some rapid fire ideas then you have clips to use in any project :D
