Hello... I thought I was allready able to solucionate this kind of things... but I am not.

I am using just the piano ultralittle, and even when it is turned off the cpu stays in 40 %.

Of course I have no revers or whatever on, and the preferences in the launching clips are in "beats" or "Texture".

I have worked on stage with this powerbook... and had no problem but latelly...

I am using the 6.0.7

Thank you (hey... I have read the manual 100 times... and know the suppoused ways to save cpu power, but this time I am lost!!)

Thank you so.

Hello,

HAve you tried disconnecting the firewire soundcard, and using the built-in one, for a test?

Amaury

hi, thanks... I have tryed that, but everything stays more or less in the same place. maybe it goes down to 30 %, but in the moment I start turning on some efects it increases to 60-80%.

I suppouse I can not work with my actual configuration and also play virtual instruments (like the zebra, or virtual rack instruments with sophisticated sounds...)

I mean, don´t think that there is any thing wrong... or maybe... maybe there is...

we´ll continue searching.

Hi,

what are your settings in the Live Preferences:Audio? What sample rate did you choose?

Do you have any tracks that are rec-enabled or set to Monitor In?

And can you give a rough overview what kind of devices you have in your tracks?

Hello, sample rate: 44100, high quality. I have got one or two traks with "monitor in", and I use the synth "zebra" or other vst (I also love "piano ultralittle) or operator.

In this concrete project I have almost 30 traks for organizating porpouses... but I take care to turn off unnecessary devices and routings.

I also use a "beatrepeat", "graindelay", "simpledelay", two "autofilters" and maybe one more effect... but I have to turnoff the reverbs to save 15% CPU.

This is it. Thank you!

Zebra's going to have a significant hit on a Powerbook of that age if it's Zebra 2...

Maybe you need to set the prosecor to the highest?
It is under system preferences-energy saver.set the prosecor to highest for beter performance.
