Ableton live 3.0 WEIRD??!!

I have Ableton Live 3.0 and a digidesign Version of Ableton Live 2.1 (demo)
On the demo, everything is restricted and only 8 trcks, no save etc. and all my small 1-bar loops work fine, once dragged onto the desktop - great!
BUT i use ableton Live 3.0 with new features etc and the same 1 bar loops dont get Warped/Looped??!!!! - its weird?
I have the same general settings/preferences in both
WHat is going on??
Why does the 2.1 demo work and not the Full 3.0?
