Can you just listen to the track and tap the rhythm in the TAP button next to the bpm counter?

the problem is that you just can't "tap" the rhythm perfectly :?
the other thing is, i don't know how correct the counter in live is?!

yeah , i'd be interested in this 2, for instance when playing your vinyl trough live, and as i don't have a pro mixer available... so this bpm counter could come in handy.. as that tapping thing isn't too precise ( not the program, just my tapping finger :p )

i thought you could import audio as 'master' so that ableton will adapt the bpm to it. isnt that the case?

won't work for live audio unfortunately. theres a few hardware options from redsound [http://www.redsound.co.uk], and there is a dj program that'll do it but i'm not sure how well it works.
i think sqook was working on one for a while but i'm not sure what happened to it..

FX Teleport is definately NOT for BPM-counting useable.
it is a program for linking 2 PC's over the network and use one as a VST-master and the other one as a VST-slave and thern you can use the second PC as another VST-hoster if your main PC is out of memory, or CPU... :? i know, complicating explanation... sorry for this :D ;)

here's the thread about sqook's plugin:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... hlight=bpm
but the links not working. you could email him about it and see what's up though...

you could build something yourself in plogue etc. but it's hard to get something that works on anything other than 4/4 beats. the hardware options are probably better really.
