Impulse issue
Impulse issue
Does anyone know why this is happening - when I create a drum sound in impulse then move to the clip view to work out the beat I want, the drum sound is different here than in the Impulse editor. It sounds a fair amount different to what I have made in the editor, yet when I look at the editor whilst my beat is playing, I can see all the right drum samples 'lighting up' and activating properly and so on.
Okay, so I tried to fix this. I think I have turned off Warping correctly. I went Options -> Preferences -> Record/Warp/Launch and set Loop/Warp Short Samples to Unwarped One Shot.
The problem remains. On any given single drum shot, the volume is louder and the tone is generally different when playing in the Clip. This is quite irritating when you spend a long time crafting a drum sound only for the end product to end up completely different from what you want.
Can anyone help me out with what has gone wrong?

I don't think he is talking about warping here because he only uses Impulse,
not audio clips..
Vaughan;
do you mean that 'previewing' the sample in a slot,
by clicking the playhead, sounds different than the sample being triggered by a MIDI note in the editor?
can you explain one more time which 2 situations you compare?

The problem still remains. For example, today I reversed a short drum sample . I did this by loading it into a clip, then hitting reverse. Then I moved it into an Impulse slot. But when I play the clip, Impulse has added some extra sound at the beginning of the clip and drastically decreased the volume level on the sample. I haven't moved these settings in Impulse - surely Impulse should just play it how I want..

Can you send me an example of this, with the original sample ans the reversed sample, in a set. You can pack the whole thing (please, use small samples!), so it is less than 10 Mo, and send it to me at [email protected].

I'll do that soon as i'm home. In the meantime i've got a quick question about a different issue which has developed. I'll email that to you in the meantime. Basically, the Back to Arrangement button is permanently red. Even when I hit the button, it remains red, even when i'm not doing anything in Live. The button still seems to do its job properly though, but it is slightly confusing. Anyone have any ideas pls?
