M-Audio X-session Pro midi pickup issues?

hey people, the cross fader on my X-session pro wont pickup the crossfader in live when i am trying to use it. It is still sending out control numbers but when i go past the value that it is supposed to pickup at it doesn't. Can anyone help? the rest of it appears to be working fine its just this that appears to be playing up. thanks guys. Coop
