microKontrol USB/MIDI gone??

For some reason I have now lost my USB-MIDI input from my microKontrol. Live 6 is no longer seeing any MIDI when it's set to input. Not even the MIDI indicator is lighting up. When I run Reason on it's own it sees the Korg just fine. Very odd as this has been working fine for many many weeks now. I can't recall anything unusual other than the following:

This has been in the last day or so. Similar things were also happening with Reason a few days back... and it was the reverse! MIDI in fine in Live, but not in Reason. I had upgraded to 10.4.10 not long ago - could there be connection/problem with Apples universal drivers?

Live 6.0.7, MacBook Pro 2.33Ghz, 10.4.10, 2Gb Ram

thanks.

After two days of random not-working-ness I finally checked my hard drive which had some minor issues that Disk Utilities repaired - from the OSX System Install disk - not the drive itself. Then I "repaired permissions" again (first thing I do when things are acting odd) and restarted everything.

Upon starting Live it still was not seeing the Korg, though it was clearly in my MIDI Devices screen. So i turned the Korg off, then on again while Live was open. Wouldn't you know it... now it's there again! And my MIDI preferences screen now looks correct - showing all the INs and OUTs of the microKontrol.

I'm sure I had done this before - but perhaps whatever was wrong with my home-drive was messing up how the drivers were loading. Very odd, indeed.
