+ 1!
Never heard of these guys but it sounds very intriguing: unique and nothing like I ever heard before. The song sticks in your head like some kind of drug and doesn't get out. Great stuff!

That is one of the coolest, strangest tracks I've heard in a long time.

yeah Battles are amazing - Mirrored is a brilliant album. Apparently they have a stunning live show that really blurs the boundary between electronic and traditional instrumentation. And they're on tour very soon! (US and Europe i think, check

They look like they might be a good live band, but the album's a bit dull.

Yeah I like the earlier battles, not this record.
For those of you who care the guitar player from Don Cabellero, Ian Williams is in this band.
If you haven't heard Don Cabellero check it out.
I stumbled across this on the looper-delight web page:
http://www.loopers-delight.com/musings/ ... attle.html
It's an interview with a guy named Mike Battle.
He invented the original Echoplex tape delay unit.
Anyone who loops owes it all to this guy.
Maybe they named their band after him?
just a thought.

"Irritating" is as good a word as I've heard yet to describe their sound. That said, they do manage to tightly integrate live instrumentation w/ sequencing. So did Rush.
In any case, Warp have lost the plot. Again. Still in business, though. That's something.

Sounds a bit wooden to me. If I want progressive stuff like that, I'd rather listen to Zappa or King Crimson.....
