Yea you can with Sampler.

You just copy them to disk and double click them. You need to edit the sustain etc and resave them but it works well.

Make sure you click the files from application support Instrument Lib etc.

Dont think so. You could try clicking them but I think you need sampler.

Yes, you can import the Jampack instruments.

Hello - yes you can import the JamPack instruments from Garageband into Live for use by Sampler. I am in the process of evaluating the Live 6 demo and just did it, using the directions provided by the Live manual. Just do this: In the Live file browser, navigate to the Garageband Jam Pack instrument you want. Once you've found the file in the Live browser, just double click it. Live will import it as a preset for Sampler. To use the instrument, simply select a MIDI track in Live, and double click the Sampler preset. This loads Sampler with the JamPack Instrument loaded in the Sampler keymapped: way cool.

I found the Garageband instrument file in /Library/Application Support/Garageband/Instrument Library/Sampler Instruments - this is what you want to double click to import into Live.

Although I found it insanely easy to import the Jampack Instruments into Live, I'm having trouble with how they sound. Played inside Garageband, they sound luscious and full. Inside Live, they don't sound nearly as good. It appears there's a problem with triggering and sustain - I haven't figured out how to tweak that yet. Anybody know anything about that???

Good luck.

Yes, you can... BUT remember EVERYONE has those sounds and you will need to do some creative processing or else your samples will be spotted. Nothing ruins a song more for me than when I spot a sample from a sample CD.
