BCR 2000 as a midi interface?

Post by sonsofthehounds » Sun Jul 22, 2007 10:07 am

I'm trying to use my BCR 2000 as a midi interface to trigger my access virus but am having no success.

The BCR works fine as a stand alone midi controller with ableton.

I have set it to USB mode 3 to enable the midi ports.

Only an in and out port show up in audio midi set-up in OS X although there are two outputs....Ableton lets me select the BCR as a midi output on a midi track but nothing shows up at the virus or on the midi action LEDs on the BCR.

I figured the midi ports are dead but I tried it in stand alone mode and the access shows it is receiving from the BCR when I turn a knob and the the LEDs on the BCR light also....

.does anyone use the BCR as a midi interface with a macbook and ableton 6 on OS X 10.4.3? ps my BCR is software version 1.10....any help is greatly appreciated...cheers.
macbook 2.16 ghz, live 6...studio with gear now gathering dust.

Hmmm... could be faulty.

I use my BCR's MIDI interface. A Faderfox LX2 is plugged into the MIDI in, and the 2 outputs to another Mac and a MIDI>DMX interface. It all works perfectly.

Double-check your Live MIDI prefs, and OSX Audio/MIDI setup BCR properties. There should be three ports.
