Slow loading live and projects 6.07 vista-white screen

Hi All

I have been running 6.07 on my new dual core vista laptop for a couple of months now and its been running pretty fine. In the last week or so loading projects is taking forever. I get a white screen for 20 or 30 seconds and the occasional not responsding than it pops up. I never had this problem before projects would load in a second or 2 .
I havent added any software or touched anything . any idea's ?
