Problem w/ReMOTE SL ZERO automap in Ableton?
I recently picked up a ReMOTE SL ZERO for many reasons, the LED communication, I need a controller but not more keys, and of course the hyped up Automapping. But I am having issues with the Auto map feature in Ableton. First, Slider 1 does not do anything. It should control track 1 volume, sends, and pan. Slider 2 control's track 1 volume but nothing else. The rest up the sliders do exactly what they should for their respected tracks. Second, the auto map doesn't always control all of an effects parameters, like changing a wave form of an oscillator, but I know that is less a problem and just nit picking. Anyway it is this first problem that I am concerned with and wondering if others have experienced this, too, or maybe it a hardware issue? I have d/l all the latest updates.
I found the problem:
Basically I had previously made MIDI assignments for my PCR-30 to control certain elements of existing projects, and I had also made MIDI assignments for my default template, and these assignments were confusing the ZERO SL. To solve this in an existing project with previous MID assignments, I clicked on MIDI in the upper right hand corner, as if I were going to assign a control to something, and then clicked on the arrow on the upper left side of the screen, to display the controls I had already assigned, and to what they were assigned to, and deleted all of those assignments, closed that window, and clicked on the MIDI button again to take LIVE out of assignment mode. With the previous MIDI assignments deleted the ZERO mapped perfectly. That is how to solve the problem for an existing project with old MIDI assignments. As for the template I just had to create a new template that opens with no MIDI assignments and let the ZERO do its thing. I hope this is insightful and may help someone else that has similar troubles.
