Whats up guys, I'm in the process of try to record my first song here out of my house, I'm working with minimal equipment- a midi keyboard, a crappy microphone, electric guitar and small amp, and Reason. I just started using this program this weekend, and thought I could figure it all out on my own. I'm doing alright, but..........

I've been taking tracks from reason, turning them into .wavs, and putting them into Ableton Live 6.0.1. Its been working fine, but just last night, I tried putting in a revised version of a track that was working fine before, and now the bass guitar from the WAV is extremely messed up... Its like its pulsating, Its like a 16th note pulse coming from the bass guitar. If I play the wav back with ANY OTHER program, it sounds just fine, but as soon as I bring it into a Ableton, it starts doing the goofy bass thing. Like I said, it worked fine two days ago, but yesterday this started happening.

Any suggestions?

And also, can anyone breifly run down how I can fade a track out?

hello, i cant help with the bass thing but i can with the fade out

i`ll use the master track as the main example but you can apply it to an individual track if you wish

open the master track out by using the little black down facing triangle, and where it says "none" use the drop down menu to select "mixer". Then where it says "speaker on" drop down to "track volume".

Now, a red line should have appeared on the master section of the track. Double click where you want the fade out to start and a dot should appear. Double click where you want the fade out to end and another dot will appear. Click on the latter dot and drag it down

and thats it, edit to suit your needs!

Please, if anyone can help me with the other issue, I'd appreciate it. No matter what I do- when I play this wav through Live it changes it, almost like there is some strange effect on the track. I've tried it on fresh new tracks, on new sets, on new projects, but the wav always sounds wierd. Any other media device, and it plays just fine.

If Warp is on the clip, turn it off?

Also, turning off Autowarping, which should be in the Preferences should help.

I turned off autowarp, no change. It still sounds like I'm getting a synced delay or someething. I don't know how to see if it is "warped or not" though...

This is really getting to me- I just want to work on this song!

Please, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd really love to hear them

Finally!

The problem, for some odd reason... was that I had EQ'd the bass track in reason. Once I un-EQd it, it played just fine through Live. I still don't get why Live would change the sound of it, though, while all of my media players played that file just fine....
