Jump to playback point in non-warped loop?

Is it possible? I see the little speaker icon appear in the clip sample display when the loop is warped. If not warped, I can't jump to any point in the loop. Why is this restriction here? Any fast way to jump to the middle of an unwarped mp3 loop for example?
