mapping the Assignable x-y to my OX-8?

Is this possible? I'm new so forgive me if this is something really simple.
Yes, just assign a knob to the parameter being modulated by the X field and do the same for Y -- for example, drop a grain delay into a track and move your mouse around the X Y display, you will notice that by default X is modulating pitch and Y is modulating frequency. Go to midi map mode, click once on frequency, and assign a knob. Repeat for pitch or whichever parameter you are trying to control.
