Help! Ableton totally screwed!

I've been running ableton 6 on my intel imac flawlessly since the beginning of the year. It always runs nice and fast, loads up real quick and is responsive and fast.

So, I went to start it up last week and ittook forever to load, always stalling for like, 5 minutes at the "creating a new live set" stage.

When it finally does start up, I can't do anything! The clips won't play. The little triangular "play" buttons just flash, but nothing happens.
And when I go to shut ablton down again, it takes, like another 5 minutes to shut down! I am sometimes forced to "force quit" cuz it just freezes.

I haven't installed any new vsts or any plug ins, haven't done anyhting that I can think of that would disrupt it. I'm up to date on my Live version
.
Can't figure it out. Anyone had any similar problems?

Looks like your preferences file is corrupt... deleting it will solve your issues!
