[ot]buying stuff from discogs..

has anyone bought stuff from discogs (obviously..). but, how did it go? any horror stories? anything i mught want to be aware of? do they have any buyer protection schemes such as what ebay does?

i did , and was scared, i had no replay from the seller for 5 days, than i payed, and still no replay, than records arrived!
i think that there is no protection at all

I personally have never bought or sold anything from discogs, but a number of friends of mine are huge forum junkies on that site and have done countless transactions there. From my understanding, the site (and the people on it) are almost always trustworthy; the nature of the forum makes it that if people started acting dodgy or ripping others off, then their accounts would be quickly nuked.

thanks again. i guess it should be reasonably ok to proceed. can't remember if the seller of the item i wanted offered paypal transaction, there's some modicum of security there i guess.

I've heard some nightmares . Look around on the forum there .
