A stupid question, but I can't seem to find it anywhere...
I want to duplicate an entire track in Arrangement view, which may consist of several clips, automation envelopes, effects, etc.
Help?

Is that function specific to 6? Because I'm on 5.2.2, and there ain't no such option. All I can do there is Rename, Freeze, and Insert MIDI or Audio or Master tracks.
There's no provision to Duplicate.

im sure i have duplicated back in 5.2. In fact i definately done it in session view. Just highlight it and ctrl-d (on pc). This works for sure.

I guess, from 5.2 to 5.2.2, they must've removed the function... 'cause it sure ain't working here.
This is absolutely silly!

I'm having a similar problem to Dibudda with duplicating tracks.
However I think people are getting confused by what he (and myself in this case) mean by track.
Not the the actual audio track(sample/loop etc.) in the arrange window, but the track the audio sample is in, how do you copy it as it is, to make a duplicate track.
An example using the arrange window:
I've created an Audio Track (command T), by default it's called "1 Audio", I've dragged a bass tone called "bass 1" into it, I've added some effects, compressor, eq's, chorus.. you get the idea.
I then want to duplicate all of the track "1 Audio" containing the effects and the "bass 1" sample to a new track.
The only way I can find to do this is to insert a new track (command T) copy the sample over, and copy the effects over.
This can be quite tedious if your layering up to 5 of the same sound and the same effects in preparation for further editing.
Surely there's a shortcut for this!!!
FYI I'm using 5.2.2 on a MAC
thanks

what happens when you do the option+drag?

No good, just comes up with the little black no smoking kinda symbol(but without the ciggie).
The "option+drag" only seems to work for duplicating the sample in a track and "Alt+drag" for copying effects over.
??
I'm still on 5.2.2. is this possible in Live 6?

Yeah it's definitely easy to do in 6. Indeed, I cannot seem to do it in 5. lame.
