There is a problem with recording externally in 6.0.7

Whenever I record in 6.0.7 from an outside source, no matter if I am recording vocals or from my turntables, there is clipping. It does not matter if I have one track in the session view or 2 track, etc, the recording will clip. ..

Being a tech head, I tested out version 5, and it does not happen in that version. All recordings are clear without any pops

So, what is different in the build 6.0.7 than the previous builds? It appears that it is more hoggish on the processor than previous builds. Is there a patch for this, because it is clearly the version?

Anyone

Are you sure that what you are getting is clipping? That would not make sense if your gain staging is accurate. If it is clipping, you should be able to turn down the preamp on your microphone and not get clipping.
If you are noticing a difference between Live 5 and 6, maybe you are getting pops/crackle because of maxing out CPU (although this should not be happening unless you are using intensive plug-ins).
Give your config (audio interface).

Live 6.0.7 records just fine.

maybe your Audio Buffer size is too small.
specs? Mac? Pc?

also, popping is not necessarily clipping. The latter refers to s aspecific type of distortion you get when recording signals that are too hot, while "popping" is more general and could have many causes.
