Hi all,

I'm quite a noob when it comes to using Ableton Live, and I've included a link to a remix of Mark Ronson by Kissy Sell Out..

http://www.listeningposts.de/wp-content ... mance).mp3

Could someone tell me how this sort of sound is achieved? I'm trying to achieve a sound similar to the old cut up stuff employed by Steinski, Latin Rascals etc but obviously in a more modern stylee without the tape slicing :)

Any idea's thoughts or help appreciated.. I'm also seeking some Live tuition if anyone is in the West Yorks area of the uk and provides such a thing (I can pay) :)

Cheers

Hi Choci,

Cloth Cat do courses in Ableton in Leeds and they're free. I went on one and it was OK, but I didn't learn that much more than I did simply going through the included lessions and experimenting myself. Having said that, the course was cut short (from 10 weeks to 6) due to lack of funding.

Might be worth having a look on the website http://www.clothcatleeds.org.uk for the next course that's coming up.
If you want one-to-one tuition maybe you could ask the guy who teaches the course if he would be willing? He knows his stuff.

I think we may have met- did you used to know a guy called Chris, from Upton, who moved to Aberdeen, Glasgow and then to Leeds?

Hey!! :)
