Live 5/Microkorg midi/audio problem...

ive searched through the forum for an answer to this. cant find one so here it goes....
i finally have my midi/audio set up so i can record live changes i make manually on my synth (cutoff/resonance). however when i cue the audio channel to record and then try to make gradual cutoff changes while the midi notes are playing after everytime i make a change in the cutoff ableton automatically brings the cutoff value back to where it was when i started playing the midi. in other words everytime i try to record a gradual bigger and larger sound, after each touch of the cutoff knob it goes right back to the original muffled sound i had when i started to record the riff. anyone know if there i something i can do to change this???
