rendering glitches

Hi,
I'm having problems rendering my projects successfuly in live.
The material sounds just right and very sweet when running live, but every attempt to render to 16 or 24 bit wav has resulted in the addition of nasty tiny little audio glitches to the sound in the rendered file.
Does this sound familiar? Can you help? Is it 6.0.9? because I've not noticed this problem previously.
I apologise if this is a well covered area and I've just failed to find the relevant threads.....
Thanks,
Steve

it's kind of hard to tell what's going on,
but you could try to narrow it down if it are track specific glitches..
Maybe it's a 3rd party plugin that's causing it?
Is the master clipping?
What you could try is rendering track by track so you could narrow it down to a single track that might be causing it..
cheers..

yes, I will have to spend some time trying to pin down the problem.
It seems odd that it only occurs when rendering to disc though. Whilst running the sequencer it sounds "perfect"
I'll have a go at rendering each track individually and see if I can track down the problem to a more specific area.
This is a real drag though, I have been successfully using Live for a year or so, and I have only come across this problem since I installed the latest update. Coincidence maybe.
The unwanted audio artefacts are random 1 or 2 sample long spikes in the waveform. They are not big spikes but very obvious when you zoom in to the waveform, and very noticeable in the quieter passages of the music.
I'll post again when I've done some more fiddling about instead of mixing.
I'm using one third party plug in only, which has been fine to date, but I'll remove it and try without.
I'm pretty confident it's not clipping, everything is well in the green.
I could post a sample and/or an image of the wave file if you think it might help...................
Cheers,
Steve

ok, well I've spent a few hours trying to pinpoint the problem and was getting very frustrated.
I tried rendering some tracks, disabling some plugins, trying different bit depths and sampling rates all to no avail.
Still small glitches in the rendered master track every time.
Then I used the render all tracks option and to my surprise the rendered version of the master track was clean and sounded spot on.
Then I rendered the master track again, and the nasty noises were still there!
So, I finally got a clean master, but it does seem a bit odd.
I'll see how it goes with the next tune...........................
Cheers,
Steve

One thing to do is reload the song into Live 6.07. It should load up fine. Then see if it renders OK.
I have been finding 6.09 less stable. Its crashed on me once this weekend and failed to load up my new project on several occasions earlier on. Trashing the .cfg helped in this situation, but it isn't something I ever had to do on 6.07.

Hi Steve,
I also experienced a rendering problem with Version 6.0.9 yesterday, it was the first time I rendered after I upgraded from Version 6.0.7. The problem apears to be on 3 tracks that has Long Pads (Audio Track) that I created. when I play the wave file I can hear the drums ok but the Pads sounds chopped and in sync with the rhythm. I use lots of effects but it never happen before and I use Live since Version 4. I will try to install the new 6.0.10 that came out today.
Thanks...
Alex.

Hi alex,
let's see if new update helps matters..........
It's been very frustrating because live sounds soo smooth, sweet and pro when it's not having hiccups

Hi Steve,
I found the problem (In my case). I use TC Electronics Konnekt 24D and I was using Fabric C (That comes with Konnekt 24D) inserted on 2 tracks and I didn't know that I'm only allowed to use on only one track by song, it was producing a strange noise on the wave file after I rendered, now I use Fabric C as a send effects. Things like that drive us crazy.
Try to make a song with just one track to test, also see if yor Hard Drive is fragmented and try to run Checkdisk if you use Windows.
Best Wishes.
Alex.
maybe I should get some sleep

so...............
Say I was using two instances of a 3rd party plugin effect in my project, on different tracks.
Say this third party plugin is like Alex's TC and is only "allowed to use on one track" per song.
Could this explain why I get glitches in my rendered master, but not in my rendered master when using the render all tracks option?
ie When rendering the master track does Live calculate all tracks at once or in a sequence, and is this sequence of events different to that in the render all tracks option, where I imagine each track is processed individually and so the plug would only be running once at any given time???
Does this make sense?
Cheers,
Steve
Yes it's true
