In previous versions of Live you could enable 'Record' on the fly (while the sequencer was running) to print some currently playing scenes/clips to Arrange. This is still possible in Live 6.
However, in previous versions, when you disabled 'Record' again, the scenes/clips were continuing to play, just nothing was getting recorded to Arrange from that point.
All in all much like 'manual punch in / punch out'. Perfect.

Now in Live 6 when you disable Record, all the clips in Session view are being stopped and the 'Back to Arrange' function is executed automatically. Not really what I want or need.

Don't know if it is a bug or if it is considered a feature introduced with Live 6.
If it is a bug, please introduce the old behaviour again.
If it is considered a feature, then please enlighten me what it should be good for, but also make the old behaviour available as a preference please.

However I just tested in Live 3 and Live 5 and it's the same

I still would be interested in the reasoning behind it

I think that basically once you hit that record button, all the playback engine is switching to Arrangement mode. And Live will never switch back to session mode automatically

You are right! I just double-checked in Live 4: All the same ... while I was so sure that it was different in previous versions and that I used to punch in / punch out on the fly that way . Must have dreamt it! Strange.
