I've searched around for info on this topic and can't find any, so I'm guessing this would be the place to bring this up.

It would be cool if it were possible in MIDI clips to select/enter rhythmic beat divisions beyond 2 and 3. Quintuplets, Septuplets, etc.

Is there some really obvious way [or a not-too-convoluted workaround] to do this that I'm missing, or is it simply not a current feature?

I'm sure I could just import a MIDI file from another program, but it would be cool to be able to do it directly in Live.

That would be cool. For now you could adjust the original BPM. Change it from 120 to 96 and you have quintuplets. 137.14 would do septuplets etc.

Stretch the notes.
Here is a trick how to snap them to the grid.
Set the grid as desired, draw one note more then you need, select them, set the mouse to stretch (right click in the midieditor, it's the last entry, i am using the german version so i'm not sure how it's called in other versions)
shorten the notes and now you should have ..tuplets.

Yes, I've thought of this also, though it becomes cumbersome when you have, say, a phrase of 7 bars which is primarily 8ths and 16ths, but with sets of 16th note quintuplets in the 2nd and 5th bars, for example. I guess in such a situation one could just record the quintuplets separately and drop them in where needed. At least it would have to be that way at the moment.

I'm not usually in the habit of quoting myself, but for contextual reasons...

Motu's Digital Performer has a phenomenal midi sequencer capable of all kinds of tuplets.

...just wish I could do it all in Live.

That's it! I think that unless you use -tuplets on a regular basis, this "workaround" works perfectly.

Since we are talking about MIDI stuff, I think a razor tool like Fruity loops has is one of those basic things that should be easy to implement and prove quite useful for stuff like this:

We need a tuplet griiiiiidddd!

Stretching doesn´t cut it. If you have ever worked on a tuplet grid (with optional swing) ((like in CuBase, for example, cough) you know how much better that is!

Oh, sorry, necro thread. I didn´t realize. But this is still not an option, right?
