Importing Files From ITunes

Hello everyone.

I just started playing with Ableton...

Going through File Browser 1 I can get to my ITunes library and it appears intact, all the folders are there, etc. but, when it comes down to it, the songs themselves are just not there.

The artists are listed, enter those folders and the albums are there, enter any of those and I have a whole lot of nothing!

What gives??????

Thanks

Drag 'n drop songs from iTunes straight into Live.

uhh well if they're m4p files you can't drag them into ableton. the only work one i'm aware of is to burn them to a cd and then rip them back as mp3s.

I apparently have Live lite 6

Files are AAC and MPEG.

I never bought anything from apple's store. Basically, I am a DJ interested in doing remixes.

Thanks for everything!

Not really sure, but I think Live Lite doesn't support compressed formats such as mp3 and AAC. You'd have to convert them to WAV/AIFF in iTunes to be able to use them in Live.

Way to cheat it

Well my ITunes will convert to AAC, but not AIFF! Unless I am missing something...

Funny thing is, you can import video clips. By opening a song in Imovie, then exporting to a quicktime file, I can import it into Live lite.

Should work for playing and getting started at least until I get the full version.

Seems lite is pretty limited.
