Would it be possible to have an infinite length for this midi utility. I mainly wanna trigger drones with it and not have to use a sustain pedal.

Hello! Thanks for the reply. My only supporter.

It's purely for live use.

Example, sometimes I'll take a sample of somebody laughing (or whatever that can be ryhthmic), find a fast loop it in simpler , trigger it, get behind the drums and play with to it with other musicians. Anyway it's not just for that but also trigger chords or anything else. Sometimes I'll trigger a drone and play trumpet or another keyboard part to it.

It's a feature you rarely see on synths and sampler (Absynth has it) which I think is missing.

Somebody told me to use the sustain pedal but I'm not gonna hold the thing for 10 minutes it's ridiculous plus I need to get behind the kit also.

Come on Robert Henke! You use drones also.

Create a 1 bar midi clip, with a note and the clip start at 1, and make that clip loop the second half of the bar.

hi,

Tried it with a synth and the synth goes silent when looping at the second half.

Maybe an on/off switch plugged into the sustain or just a brick on a sustain pedal. Duck tape on the keyboard. That seems to be the only solution.

thanks

Is the sustain fully up on the synth?

No but some have limits like the simpler's release goes up only to 60s. Same for the note utility plugins which goes to 60sec max.

See if the note lenght plugin would have infinite after the 60sec max, this would solve it for me. I can just close the midi on/off plugin to the chords or whatever else I'm triggering.

Soma from Kvr made a midi plugin once which does that (many thanks to him) and works but it's got some bugs and crashes live. Probably gonna have to pick up a copy of synth edit and try to cook up one of my own.

OK, I kinda of mixed up on what you said Groovy but it stills doesn't work. I put the Delay, sustain and release to max and still goes silent after a while with the midi clip running.

Another work I guess it's just to make a super long midi clip but then I don't know how long the jam lasts and sometimes I'll trigger big ass chords and I usually need to set this up fast.

What synth are you using?
Have you tried diferent patches?

In this instance Cronox 3. The thing that I never know in advance what I'm gonna use or play cuz it's mainly improv so I just pick up whatever and I just go with that.

Another I've though of, is that sometimes the sustain pedal is reversed meaning you have to press it to end the sustain. This would work also.

My bad. I was at work, now i'm home and i just tried it.
When i told you to loop the second half of the clip, i was wrong.
The end of the loop must be before the end of the note/clip.

This way it works. 8)

Ya man. That's awesome. Never tried this before. Great work around. One of thoses live things tucked away. It seem to works as long as you put the loop after the start of the note and the end.

Thanks a mill.
